Sunstroke Extravaganza
In this blogpost you will read more about missed spraycations, sunstrokes, improvisation and paintfumes.
So… Reservations where made, bags packed, research finished, cans ordered, sketching done. Ready to go! Nope nope nope. A 3-day spraycation to the Belgian Ardennes with the boys had to be cancelled due to some last minute government rule bending. Conclusion.. Corona sucks .. again..
In order to relieve some of the holiday pain, we; Shad, Kermis, Tober, 3Mers and myself, decided to go out to Roosendaal to “Theloods hall of fame” for a mini-jam. However, 2020 wouldn’t be 2020 if it did not have one more nasty trick up its sleeve for us. Me and good friend Shad started showing some Corona symptoms a couple of days before paint day. Sore throats, headaches, colds, you name it, we had it.
For me, it was a last minute call if I would go paint or not. On the day itself I decided to go as well. But in order to make it in time I was not able to join in on the color scheme the boys had planned out. So I decided to quickly grab some colors loosely based on a recent sketch I had made.
When I arrived, the boys where already busy rolling some paint onto the wall. However, to my surprise they were painting that side of the building that was in full sunshine. All day long, not one single cloud passed by. It felt like painting an oven on the inside.
Well… its better than rain I suppose.
For some good, non-overexposed pictures I had to wait a lifetime till sunset/golden hour. At the end of the day a cold breeze swept in, but my head felt like exploding and some of the guys had burnt to a crisp.
To sum It all up.. Sunstroke Extravaganza!
